Today has been pretty boring.

Also, I went on here at about 2:00, and then I went on now and there's no new messages. That's a first.

Oh, and I woke up at 6 today to go take a 4 hour test and got back an hour early and STILL have 3 hours of class today, although I'm going to skip one of them.

• Continued my diet, it's working!
• Went to the gym to get my #####ing swell on
• Washed dishes by hand because the dishwasher got broked
• Got electrocuted
• Downloaded Da Chip, a Daft Punk chiptunes album. Amazing.

I just got back from a heck of a night...

Went to see Men Who Stare at Goats which was OK but I wasn't really expecting much out of it.

Went to Zaphod Beeblebrox (a club) for the first time (and first club too). Was pretty bored, all of my friends got drunk and had a ton of fun but since I wasn't getting drunk, I was pretty much just my shy self, just keeping to myself. I had a  Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster, though. The first few sips were terrible, but after a while it started to taste OK. It took me about an hour and a half to drink, though, because it seriously was making my stomach turn over (might have just been a psychological factor, though).

Oh, and I also shot this drink called Firefly, I think, where it's basically Tequila and Hot Sauce. I refused at first but my friend bought one for everyone so I felt bad for not drinking it.

Overall, I was pretty bored the two hours and a half I was at Zaphod's. I wouldn't mind going again, though, with a much smaller group of friends.

I then went Zak's Diner for some 3AM breakfast. Wasn't really enjoying it, however, mostly because I was still quiet and keeping to myself. I really dislike it when I'm in such a large group of people, I'm just too shy to be myself.

It didn't help that there was drama going all over the place; it was the biggest outburst of drama I had ever seen in my college year. And I was a part of it too, so it just made me dislike the night more and more.

In the end, if I knew what was going to happen that night, I probably would have stayed home.

Like I said, though, I wouldn't mind going to Zaphod's one more time.

BTW, for those of you wondering why me and my friends would do this on a Wednesday, its because we don't have class until 7PM tomorrow.

...I want to go to Zaphod's... just for the name...

Hell, if I ever chose to drink, I'd want my first alchoholic drink to be a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.

They're good. If it was bad at first it's because they didn't mix it well, which can happen, so stir it up next time.

Matrix doesn't ban you for things like that.

But you did say "get" twice, which unfortunately for you, peeves Abe off big time. Like, he goes out and slaughters goats because of it. Don't ask why, he just does, so you're pretty screwed.

Barnes & Noble is currently running a 50% off sale on Criterion Collection DVDs, and my brother's library was having a book fair, so I went off to B&N today to get some new movies.

I picked up:

-Charade
-Ikiru
-Tokyo Drifter
-Youth of the Beast

I was thinking about picking up The Red Balloon, but that would be with money I don't have (so no go on that), and Salo: 120 Days of Sodom. But if I picked up Salo, it would've been nothing more than a curiosity that I would have probably only watched once - and hated myself for it.

Drove the two-hour trip home today because I have to get my wisdom teeth out on Monday. About 15 minutes away from home, I get rear-ended on the highway after traffic starts to slow down. The car behind the car behind me hit the car behind me which hit me. My rear bumper is pretty much entirely fallen off. My car's out of commission for the week, which sucks.

Ironic, because I declined an offer for a ride home on the grounds that I wanted my car available to me for the week (if I had accepted the ride home, I would have left my car at school and avoided the accident.)

In other news, the NES came in the mail. Haven't had much time to fiddle with it yet but boy oh boy am I going to.

ALSO: I just finished writing a 4-page paper... and it was really fun to write because I was analyzing a scene from Shaun of the Dead for a film class. I did the scene where he walks to and from the convenience store the morning after the zombie outbreak. It's all filmed in one two-minute shot and it's chock full of mise-en-scene to make for a super-easy essay.

I was watching the Steelers game, but not by choice. I mean, I don't watch sports. But I was just at the house of the family of my friend who recently died. It was very awkward for me (basically I kept glancing at the Steelers game to avoid having to say anything), but they were very happy to see them and I was glad to be of comfort to them. I wasn't able to make it out to the funeral.

All of you mothers trying to be "cool moms", take notes!

ALTERNATE RESPONSE: What are you going to ask on the polls? How much did their daddies beat them?

Your excessive 'E's killed it.

As it stands, I really don't think I could tolerate Limbo. Having been waiting there for two weeks in order to move into our new #####ing house and out of our old pile of issues, I now understand that I am not as patient or as self-entertaining as I used to be.

We'll know after this Thursday, probably, which could be problematic considering that's Thanksgiving.

Oh, yeah, I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday and it hurts like hell. I haven't really moved or done anything since the surgery. I was bleeding for most of yesterday.

Good news: Black Friday means great sales all week on Amazon, plus my parents are in sympathy mode what with my good grades and yesterday's surgery... plus Channukah isn't too far off so they were willing to let me spend what gift money I would've gotten early.

Well, turns out all seasons of Doctor Who are half-off right now (god knows I'm not spending the usual $80-100 on any of them) so I nabbed all those for $42 each (already had Series 1 from a long while back). Also got the complete series of Deadwood, which I'd been meaning to grab. And Coupling. Basically, this more than makes up for the pain.

Oh, and with my own money, I grabbed the first volume of the graphic novel The Walking Dead. I'd been interested in it for a while now, and I recently heard AMC is adapting it as a TV series for 2010. What finally spurred me on was Mike's reccommendation to read the novel World War Z, which I thought sounded interesting but when I realized all the similarities between the two, I decided to go with The Walking Dead for the time being. I'll still check out World War Z at some point soon.

I don't get it.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed. I did not feel one ounce of pain...Like ever. I bled for a good part of the day but it stopped by the evening. Mind you, they gave me amazing medicine.

Everyone got me all hyped up though, telling me I'd be in pain.

TODAY'S SNARE'S NEWS IS: Both the lowest and the highest string of my harp broke.

I've always had sensitive gums so I expected more pain the most people have relayed to me. I've also heard it from every end of the spectrum: extreme never-ending pain (mine's not quite that bad) to not feeling the slightest bit of discomfort. I guess wisdom teeth removal is different for everybody.

Sucks anyway. How much do harp strings cost to replace?

I have no idea when, if ever, I'll need to get the wisdom-teeth operation done. Hopefully sometime I'm not busy, just in case I get the never-ending-pain problem

So I guess you can say "one size doesn't fit all!" Right ASR? HAHAHA!!

Harp strings...harp strings...

The lowest strings are steel-wound and cost around 6.50~11.50 a pop.
The mid range strings are gut strings and cost around 19.50~21.50 each.
Nylon strings cover the rest of the ranger and are only 1.50ish

Lucky me, the last person who strung my harp (awfully) only used 7 gut strings for some reason. I'mma restring it soon. It sounds like cack.
