I was incredibly drunk, but I was still able to retain first in MarioKart consistently.

Earlier in the day I had climbed a cliff face in Acadia national park, and swam in the 45 degree ocean. I got sunburned half to death as well.

John, you have to try the Mario Kart Drinking Game. My buddies and I play it all the time (I don't drink alcohol, obviously, but honestly in Mario Kart it doesn't make that much of a difference).

Rules: every time you cross the finish line, you have to take as many drinks as whatever place you're in. Also, if you fall off the course or hit a major obstacle (like the tornado or one of those ducks in the Double Dash), you take a drink.

Looks like I just might be passing my Statistics class finally.

My grade is a VERY borderline 70% C, but that's without 1 homework assignment and discussion board points added in. With the discussion board, it should be about a 74%, so I think I'm going to be just fine.

I just want them to resolve the series-long story arc and reveal who the Half-Man is.

(Oddly enough, I was going to use Two And A Half Men instead of CSI, but opted against it because I'm getting sick of making fun of it)

I haven't been here for a while so I'm behind on making fun of it.

This ree in my class liked it. It wasn't shocking if you know this asshole but it was funny when he piped up after I said how terrible it is.

Oh yeah I went to Yuk Yuk's recently on a wednesday night, which I think is something I'm gonna do more because it's a night when established comedians you've seen on TV AND new unknowns (as well as in between) all try out new material but it remains one of the cheaper nights to go. Badass.

She was old and these things do tend to happen. She wasn't in much pain thankfully because it was early enough. It was just sad today, the way she was following me around crying.

But had it been one of the two other cats that died, ouch... I would be a little sobby mess for a few weeks.

I'm good now though.

That article is a joke.
It's an amazing advancement that he has created Mycoplasma laboratorium, the article calls him an antichrist when he's really a superior geneticist.

It's silly that people are afraid of this, a single bacterium can't do crap, and it way less complex than a eukaryote. Variations of this could be made though, that synthesize synthetic fuels, which is amazing.

This semester I took and introduced a DNA plasmid to a strain of E. coli and successfully made it completely resistant to the antibiotic ampicillin. He has just done this on a greater scale.

Did you know that we make the insulin used for diabetics by transforming E. coli? We introduce a simple strand of genetic code that makes the E. coli produce insulin, then filter out the nutrient media and the E. coli and boom, insulin. Then dump the E. coli into another vat and get MORE insulin.

It's been a long process coming that an entire DNA strain has been put together to create an entire creature, even though it was really like taking the parts of a few different cars, sticking them together, and putting them together in an assembly line used to make similar cars. It's a 'new' car, but it's nothing truely shocking. When we can take and create all the pieces from scratch, THAT'S an achievement.

FRANKENSTEIN WAS A GREAT BOOK.

But I don't think this will pan out like Frankenstein. When you slowly build up to something, you account for every error along the way.

It's like that up here, too. We also just got past a nasty cold snap from BC that was all like, "I'm going to rain all over you and drop the temperature into the 50s and below!" *windy whoosh*, but then, the sun was all like, "Oh, no you don't, evildoer!" *shine shine shine shine*, and it was amazing because, except for the giant puddles, you couldn't tell that it had rained half an hour after the sun came out.

This would cycle every few hours, except for a couple extended snaps of each.

It lasted most of last week.

Cold to me in Florida is when I walk outside and feel it, and I miss being in Illinois when I was little playing in the snow, and then have someone walk up next to me and say, "Geez, it's FREEZING out here."

Right, so today was my last day of high school, but it didn't really feel like it.
It felt like every other day. Everything came and went like it was just my average school day, and by the end of it, I began to feel a sense of sadness over the realization that I'll probably never really talk to nor see many of my friends after graduation.

It just came up so fast, I suppose.
At the beginning of the year it seemed like I still had a #####-ton of time left before now.

About weather; It was 39 Celcius in Ottawa today.
That is #####ing way too #####ing hot for May.

Other sexier news; This weekend I did testing at an animation studio in west Ottawa from 9-5 each day. I'm the LAST person to be actually cocky but I thought my stuff was some of the best in the group tested. I haven't gotten word from them yet, though that might be a good thing because everyone I know of that HAS gotten word from them didn't get a spot. A confidentiality agreement keeps from talking about what I did there but wish me luck guys, I'm really hoping I get this job now!

Man, that's gay.

Well, now my life... I failed 5 of my 7 classes last semester which pretty much rendered that semester as a waste of money and half a year of my life.

A lot of it is definitely my fault. I was pretty retarded the entire year, barely lifting my ass up to do any homework nor did I even try studying.

I've talked to people about this (including a psychiatrist) and they think I'm just burnt out. Working every single day for, like, 15 years of my life is making me feel bored of it.

But it's not just my fault. The course itself is very #####ed up. There are changes made every year because too many people drop out half-way through. The first year is incredibly easy (and fun!) and the second year the difficulty jumps so far up its not even funny. And the people who run the course admits that things need to be changed... but it won't be changed soon enough. So, I'm pretty much wasting my time on this...

But... I've already spent so much money. And I want to do this. I'm still going to try to finish the course. I'm going to motivate myself more to fix my programming stump, I'm trying to learn as much as I can this summer so I can be prepared for what's going to come. I will finish the course, I'm not going to be a college drop out.

Still... so many of my friends have dropped out... I can only think of one friend out of a group of ten that's definitely going to come back... and even then, he wants to drop out so he can become a lawyer instead because it's actually easier then learning all kinds of complex programming languages and algorithms. But I'm doing it, I'm not going to disappoint my family or myself any longer.

Hey man, if you want this go get it. You sound like you've made up your mind but I just want to help you along, and I know just how you feel. But I know the program works, at least for some. No program works for everyone but I have a few friends that took that program and one of them now works at Fuel here in Ottawa (which is hard to get into, at least for illustrators/animators, not sure about people on your side of it) and another friend works out in the Maritimes.

Lawyers have to go to school for seven years and have a work comparable to what I had in animation. I don't think your program is easy--I know it's not (after first year, anyway)--but I don't know if becoming a lawyer is easier. I have a friend that actually had a nervous breakdown in law school recently and came home from England early, with a sabbatical for school.

Vinch, that sucks. Keep at it, man. Do what you want to do with your life, and don't second-guess yourself. I had a rough semester in my sophomore year where I failed three classes due to laziness - it's really easy to fall behind in college after the beginning. It's hard to get back on the ball but definitely worth it. That being said, my classes are pretty damn easy. And my hard classes are fun to me.

Thanks for the support guys.

In other news, I got myself a RetroDuo. This thing is really going to kill productivity, lol, I haven't played my NES and SNES games in years.

I already went and beat MegaMan on it. What a bitch, it was a lot harder than I remembered. >_>

Feel like doing the same with 2, 3, and 4. It even makes me want to buy 5 and 6 on eBay or something... <_<

But anyway, doing this just makes my love for being a Game Designer even stronger. I'm currently tinkering around in OpenGL (a graphics programming language), trying to figure out how to make a 2D platformer on it. How cool would it be if I could recreate a MegaMan engine on it? :P
