[The Otaku]

I've finally done it. I've found the time to make an art thread displaying some of my works. Feel free to comment and criticize, diss and praise, and whatever else you wanna do with this. Some of them don't have my 'signature' on them, so please don't take advantage of that and claim it as your own. I also do customs free of charge, just ask through PM. By the look of some of those pics you got there it looks like you do trace so you can't blame anyone for assuming you trace, and that joke was lame

I don't trace. I'm more of a copy artist. I can never come up with anything original, so I just copy cool looking stuff, which might explain why I look like I trace.

And in case you didn't get it, you know how Sano's art is ugly, and then I said he probably traces pictures of his mom . . . But I'm not that cruel. I'd never insult anyone's mom seriously, even Sano's.

Sigh. No art is ugly, okay? Sano's just seems different to me. My idea of pretty are thing that have sharp lines and don't look like my brother drew it. But yours might be that Sano's are the greatest works of art since Van Gogh. I can draw imaginative things as well, they just don't look pretty.

That's Sano's style, it's good, it's bad. Who cares? When people criticize your art you shouldn't criticize theirs.

Okay JC, I've completed the Naruto drawing. It's listed under special. And I added some additional stuff as well, including an interesting conversation between me and my friend Alex in our oh-so boring Social Studies class.

What did you use for the pose?
I can tell the head is from scratch.

Everything was from scratch. I just woke up this morning and felt bored, so I decided to work on the drawing. Maybe I just used memories of Ichigo's robes for a reference, but a reference was not physically in front of my eyes. Though I kinda messed up on the feet, as the persepective of them was different from that of the rest of the body. And also, I suck at hands, which explains why I hid Naruto's right hand with the thing on his sword.

I'm sorry my sprites aren't that good.  I'm kinda new to it. Oh, and before I forget, that Protoman MegaSoul is a recolor of a wonderful Protoman sprite portrait by Dragon_Hero.

You should start a little harder and go on to more difficult edits. And that Protoman is actually from a BN game.

I never thought I'd ever take Sano's side in anything, but...

Hon, there's no shame in needing to copy to learn, but you can't call it your own or post it as if you made it. The first step is making your own stuff.

The difference between copying artwork and using a photograph for reference is  photorealistic artwork takes a lot of skill. Or, if you do like I do, and look for pose references, you don't eyeball the photograph and copy every strand of hair, but you use it to figure out where things go in relation to each other, the way the back curves, so on and so forth.

I'm just a little disappointed that this sort of thing is happening in Matrix.
