Ello folks. Summer time has finally come. Time to enjoy grill outs, sea side vacations and just lounging days.

Today, I'll be heading out to Jackson, South Carolina. Why? Because I'm a newly enlisted member of the U.S. Army heading off to basic training TONIGHT!

Just wanted to wish everyone a great summer, and that I'll be back next school year (which is sometime in August for me).

My brother went to Boot at fort Leonard Wood MO., and is currently stationed in Fort Lewis WA.

He likes it, once you're out of Boot Camp you have a quite a bit more free time.
He's doing heavy equipment operation, and has been trained to frive every land vehicle at his Base, and is liscenced to use them all.
He also holds their HumVee course record.

That's pretty cool. I have a bunch of military friends. Also family too (Grandpa and Great Grandpa were in the World Wars). My cousin's an engineer and served in Afghanistan twice.

Best of luck!!  I actually had a friend from work who trained at Fort Jackson last year, although she was Honorably Discharged a few months ago because she was anemic.  :x  Oh well; I suppose it still serves as a good learning experience...

Gramps is from SC. One of my buddies signed up almost three years ago, and he's almost out. Been in Iraq most of the time.

Good luck, guy. It's tough, but you'll make it.
