This level of drama wouldn't be happening if not for that stunt.  Or at the VERY least limited to "oh nos it's 8 bit butt hurt frownine face" crap.

I remember the only time posting at RPM was when I posted in a ZX topic, something like "what will the next model be?" and I drew up some Model B, which was a Baboon with Vent's face on his ass or something. A mod deleted my post and PM'd telling me not to rip off other members styles, really, I don't even know anyone there. I PM'd the mod back telling him off. And haven't returned since.

The only time I've had stupid ##### like that happen to me was when I was posting as a 65 year-old Australian beastiality enthusiast on some bitchass MM forum Lunche showed me where a mod was so up his own ass that anyone who did or said ANYTHING against his beliefs (like Lunche's lesbian character) was banned. That guy deleted my posts, and those were even MORE than just posts where I was in-character and making subtle allusions to being sexually attracted to Data.

Ah yeah, I remember that... good times. Wasn't Lunche "Snake on a planeman" at one point too? Well whatever, it was worth the laughs.

Eh, you know if BBD didn't do it at RPM, he would've did it at MMN or some other half-ass site anyway. *shrugs* And some dupe would've believed it, so the drama would've ensued with someone else as the person everyone points fingers at. But it's all rather pointless in the end anyway.

Because it's a game and it caused everyone to act like idiots. Oh well.

I have my issues with MMN, sure, but if you expect me to believe they'd have bought that crap and run with it like Inafune himself stopped by dressed as Mega Man to tell them you're kidding yourself.

"Snakemanonaplane"

I remember that, it was from when that one kid kept stealing news from other Megaman sites. And then did it over and over again like 5 times.

I posted a picture of a random myspace girl, pretending that was me, and the admin basically called me a whore for having cleavage in the shot.

Wait, no, it wasn't the admin, It was that mod of his that was a right-wing religious nutball that liked to get high and mighty with everyone.

Also, after about a thousand hints he's all like "You're a LESBIAN?!" and then basically told me that I should become straight, otherwise I'd burn in hell.

That was really fun.

If it's any... CONSOLEation, I doubt 360ers or PS3ers would even care about a possible gem like MM9 because of the direction they went with it.  Outright dismissed upon sight.  And that's why our hobby is dying.

If they even had it, it probably wouldn't be worth using due to how the online setup is on the Wii, let alone the storage space that EVERYONE is complaining about nowadays, for some reason or another. Could work out good, though.

Maybe someone should shoot that out to one of these people that know the "Insiders", that deal with this game? Worst comes to worst, it's just a Download Content added later on, or else a completely seperate WiiWare with how Capcom and Inafune love to make money. Then again... MM Stage Builder with downloadable bosses... Nah, that'd be too GOOD of a decision for CoJ to do >>

For someone who is compelled to try every game with customization, I really don't give a lick if they have a level builder in it. Probably because I'm still upset that this isn't really a true sequel. I just KNOW this isn't going to be a full game, I'd bet dollars to donuts it will be short.

Some details of the game by people who've played it.

And by experiment, we mean "die a thousand deaths," as Mega Man 9 is easily on par or above the hardest games in the series. Hell, we played for two hours and only made it to three bosses, and even then only beat two. Not too surprising considering we don't yet know which boss is weak against the other, but damn, these guys are hard.

YES.

That in itself isn't exciting to me... it's the fact that it means there is obviously a way to play as different characters, at the very least a character select screen of some sort.

I mean, MMPU already let you play as him without the suit.

The charging Mega Buster introduced in MM4 is missing (at least initially) but Rush is available from the start - as Rush Coil, naturally. Sliding was also MIA, though we did see small tunnels suspiciously similar to those accessed by the slide move.

So... They're either going to make this downloadable content for extra money, or else bad things I don't even want to bother putting into text, since we all get it by now.

Man, just because people enjoy MM2 the most, doesn't mean we should get something stripped down to be MM2.5, especially not after all the STANDARDIZED things that's been implemented into every game one way or another since they were introduced? Or else even charging extra as downloadable content, and in this case, REALLY being a situation where features were removed that already exist in the game or should have to begin with are "Turned Off" for a quick buck, really gets my blood boiling...

Suppose once E3 hits with it's lackluster updates and Wii Fit 2 or Mario Party 12 news, more information will hopefully be unvieled. Now this is looking more like a dead horse that needs to just be buried, instead of something epic and fun ><

Epic isn't the point, it doesn't need to be epic and it shouldn't be. They ideal they're going for with it is the right course of action; fun and simple.

I'm not so worried about there not being as much features, as the fact that if the game is basically MM 2.5, it might be awesome and great and everything, but them claiming it as an actual MM9 (and thus, a sequel to MM8 in continuity) would make it the definitive end to the Classic series, as they'd clearly just be half-assing it to shut everyone up.

I do think this will be a good game and I do want to play it, but I'm worried that if it's not a proper MM9 then it's all lack-lustre. It's not the graphics or even the gameplay so much as if it is just stripped down to a MM2 supplemental game. Regardless of difficulty.

More good news:

"Yes, Mega Man 9 has been official for quite some time in North America. Just this week, Famitsu announced the title for Japan, and now Capcom follows up with an official announcement. The title is indeed slated for a September release in Japan, and the official Japanese site for the game will launch on July 15th. To help build the hype for Mega Man 9’s Japanese launch, Capcom will be releasing Mega Man 1 in July, and Mega Man 2 in August. Both titles will be hitting the VC, of course. With all this fanfare, we are sure to see some interesting goodies hit North America leading into our launch…whenever that may be." -Go Nintendo

http://www.capcom.co.jp/news/200807/04_002880.html

So, Website on the 15th, and Mega Man games coming to the VC soon.

Dr. Light's Lab is in, too. So this may mean that charging and sliding are unlockable later for bolts (or whatever). That means you can play the way you want to (after a while).
It also suggests that there are some other things to unlock later on. Could be interesting.

Nothing was said about this being a definitive end, though.

They say it doesn't bridge the gap to X, but the whole "recycling" robots, or expiry dates kind of hint at what could have happened to everyone. Its better than the cataclysm theory. Most things are.

That's not what I said. What I meant was that if the game actually does turned out half-assed then it will definitively kill any hope for real continuation of the Classic series.

I never thought MM9 was the finale of Classic.
