The charging Mega Buster introduced in MM4 is missing (at least initially) but Rush is available from the start - as Rush Coil, naturally. Sliding was also MIA, though we did see small tunnels suspiciously similar to those accessed by the slide move.

So... They're either going to make this downloadable content for extra money, or else bad things I don't even want to bother putting into text, since we all get it by now.

Man, just because people enjoy MM2 the most, doesn't mean we should get something stripped down to be MM2.5, especially not after all the STANDARDIZED things that's been implemented into every game one way or another since they were introduced? Or else even charging extra as downloadable content, and in this case, REALLY being a situation where features were removed that already exist in the game or should have to begin with are "Turned Off" for a quick buck, really gets my blood boiling...

Suppose once E3 hits with it's lackluster updates and Wii Fit 2 or Mario Party 12 news, more information will hopefully be unvieled. Now this is looking more like a dead horse that needs to just be buried, instead of something epic and fun ><

The most pessimistic view I've seen of the game.
Like Chron said, they'll probably be achievable partway through the game via some means.
It's not like ANY other game for Wii has actually had DLC. They don't have any good way for implementing it yet. Like they'll charge for basic features....

I'm sure Nintendo won't be MICRO$UCK.

Nothing was said about this being a definitive end, though.

That's not what I said. What I meant was that if the game actually does turned out half-assed then it will definitively kill any hope for real continuation of the Classic series.

I never thought MM9 was the finale of Classic.

I misunderstood you, then. Sorry.
You're sadly right.

I'd be fine if Inafune follows through with just making several more Classic games in exactly this format.

That's because Square is one of the worst game developers around, and their fans are so blinded by the bad games that they'll buy anything.

HA HA!  FINALLY we get MM1 and MM2 on VC over here.  Now if they release MM3 I'll be happy.  4 would be great, and 5 and 6 nice, but I can live with 1-3 if that's all they do.

And I can't see them REMOVING the charge shot and slide only to make it EXTRA downloadable ##### for money.  If anything it's just going to be an upgrade you can buy or unlock.  And hell, in game maybe Mega Man has been damaged so Light needs to rebuild those features for Mega Man.  Though honestly, the charge shot just killed any real need to use Robot Master weapons because of how much damage it did and I'd be happy if they just took it out.

To be fair, they balanced the charge shot better in the later Classic Games and X2-X6.

Let's not get into X stuff while talking about Classic, eh?

I'm sure slide and buster will come in a Metroidy fashion, allowing access to previously unaccessible areas.

To help build the hype for Mega Man 9’s Japanese launch, Capcom will be releasing Mega Man 1 in July, and Mega Man 2 in August. Both titles will be hitting the VC, of course.

Of course, that doesn't mean that the games won't come out here in North America.

Where else would they come out, then? They've been slowly getting released on the VC over in Europe, and I'm pretty sure that Rockman has been up on the VC over in Japanland for awhile now.

Outside of Nintendo's general lack of care or effort they use for VC matters, seems like a pretty decent way to get some money raised for both Capcom and Nintendo, and to get people excited for the new game that looks more and more like Mike called it on at first.

Oh yeah, I call Model a being in this game, since my faith is taken down a bit more each update on this title, and Inti probably WOULD do something like that for laughs and "Nostalgia" for the ZXA players  :'(

That goes well with the avatar.

The more I think of how much a Wii could do with simplified graphics, the more and more I hope we'll see some creazy looking shiz. I have ideas. Ideas that wouldn't harm gameplay or anything, just neat looking stuff that would add a very nice polish. I'm not sure if I know to how explain my ideas right now and it's all probably stuff they'd need to do with a real release not WiiWare, but what Chron said about the processor having an easier time with everything meaning the game do more has me ol' head stirrin' with interesting ideas. Ideas.

I have too many ideas for my position in life.

Xbox generation is special. They'd hate MM9 if it came out, but they're all raving about N+ and it's gameplay, so it's a mix bag there. They all still hop on the latest shooter game that comes out and go nuts over it, regardless of quality, though, so it's probably a moot point about them.

I guess what Chron said is true about them using the processor power to make a really nifty game, and that magnetic deal in that video means I just won by default a trivial argument on GameFAQ's out of the hundreds of topics about MM9, so sorta hurray there.

Music sounds so so for now out of the segments that were shown, but I'm still waiting more to see some HUGE Wily Fortress Bosses before I decide if it's a launch day purchase or not from me, since I'm jaded when it comes to how the MM series is handled anymore, and want to see the devs put their money where their mouth is.

Anyone else fear that this is how Legends 3 will be handled if this game sells well...?

It's MEGA MAN 9.

Not Star Force 3: Scorned Zebra.

Any self respecting Mega Man fan will but this day one.

Speaking of buying day one (and excuse me for the double post), but Mega Man 9 will cost 1000 Wii points... Or, rather, ten American dollars.

I don't know how to do the thing where I insert the link into a name, so:

Same old Capcom. Make it cheap to get, and then charge for the extras. They're bound to come up with several updates for download, just to make more money.

Atleast it's not 3 versions of the same game with slight differences.

Good Possibility: an optional “Graphic/Sound Update” for anyone that doesn’t want to play it in 8-bit. I probably wouldn’t use it at first, but it might be a nice thing to try on a replay, especially if they use Inticreates’ “Megaman Zero” -style of drawing for it.

Bad Possibility: Charge-shot and Sliding are made downloadable. Not necessary to beat the game, but you can use it to reach certain secret areas.

Jesus Christ, there are times I'd sell my soul to be able to reach through the internet and smash in someone's skull with a brick, and that was one of them.

I'll most likely end up downloading any and all DLC available if it actually ends up having it, but the only things that I truly think will be worth it are new levels and new playable characters (that play differently, not just a color swap/costume change.)

I still doubt there will be any real DLC.

Roll was dumb in Powered Up.

I'd like bosses to playable again like in Powered Up, though. That'd be a nice bonus. But they'd have to all come in one package, not individually.

Right, for the most part, having multiple playable characters doesn't work well, especially when they're thrown in as "extras".  Good stage design requires you build the game around how your character controls.  Making them play differently to the extent they're not just a color swapped Mega Man would mean the stages wouldn't play very well.  Look at Powered Up.  Half the Robot Masters were an exercise in frustration because the levels were made for Mega Man and they were just thrown in.

And new levels are for sequels.  If it's good enough to put in, PUT IT IN THE #####ING GAME FROM THE GET GO and let me unlock it, not #####ing buy it later.  DC is the biggest bull##### rip off ever thought up.

Right. The only good downloadable content, is free downloadable content. I shouldn't have to pay to update a game I bought since the game should have been complete WHENCE I HAST BOUGHTEN IT! Even free "DLC" is kind of stupid to me, but at least I don't feel like a total chump.

Same reason I will never pay for an MMORPG like WoW (you know, besides the fact that the game is totally gay) or KotOR. I'm never going to buy a game that makes me constantly pay to play it. It's cheaper to go to an arcade and do that, and the games there could even be BETTER.

But if any of you expected Capcom to NOT put your through hoops and ##### with this game then you were #####ing dreaming, skid.

I'm constantly surprised by the large amount of people I meet who don't even know who MegaMan is.

I'd be happy if that were to happen to me. Since everyone seems to think BN or MMZ star MegaMan. Hell people even think X is MM half the time. But since X is good, I don't mind as much (but still want to kill them, just less painfully).

Someone here once told a story of them trying out Command Mission at EB or some other store and people came up behind them and were like "Oh look, it's Mega Man! And there's Protoman, and Bass!"

... They were looking at X, Zero, and Axl...
