Actually, I'm quite fond of Wind Man's tune, though it's nothing next to Air Man.

Well, if we're delving into that territory... yes, Storm Eagle's is one of my favorite tunes from the X series.

I've told this story before, but I was once humming it in the hallway, and some kid stopped me to confirm it was from MegaMan X.

Storm Eagle is great, but it's nowhere near my favourite, not even within that game. I actually get sick of people saying "STORM EAGLE STORM EAGLE HURR HURR" even though I totally understand. This is why I'll probably put off sequencing that tune until VERY late in the Mega Man X set.

I love the Can't beat Airman vids, the remix is great and the video is always fun to watch. Only beef I have is with the vocals..

Heres an example, the vocals are a no no

About time!

I'm not downloading it, but I just let my friend borrow my Mega Man Anniversary Collection. I'm glad this is happening. It's about time.

I'll enjoy Mega Man 9 though.

I'll probably be getting it. ##### MMAC, I might have it, but I'd rather have a good port of MM1 and not the crappy ones from MMAC.

Besides, I have it on the PS2... And I'd like to be able to play MM1 on my Wii.

All of them are single player except for the two other arcade games you can unlock.

I feel torn between wanting to get MM1 and MM2 on the VC.

I already own them on the Anniversary Collection, but I despise the swapped A/B buttons so much. And I love playing NES VC games with the Wii-mote sideways. I really want to buy them, but I don't want to waste points. I have 2,000 on there, half of it being reserved for MM9. I could spend the other half on MM1 and MM2, or find something else. But I dunno.

I've always thought MM1 was the worst of the original 6, but I mean that in a good way because it's fantastic.

I love MM1.

I'm weird so I don't find it that hard. Yellow Devil was the only real annoying Boss in the game (with their weaknesses).

Of course, if I tried playing MM1 with just the Mega Buster the whole time, I'd say it's really hard to beat.

Level design is what keeps Mega Man games interesting.

Except Mega Man 8 anyway. At least in my opinion.

MM8 decided to try to be pretty instead of interesting. I guess it was MM's teen years.

I need to play MM8 sometime, just to be able to say I played all classic MM games. MM7 was fun in my opinion, I know most people didn't like it very much but atleast I had fun with it. ^^

MM7 is just a different atmosphere from the 8-bit games, and then MM8 is even more of a departure from that. However, MM7 is still a great game and 8 is pretty okay, too.

I had fun with MM8, but the most fun with 7.

Mostly because my brother tends to develop an ego about being better at me in certain types of games (he claimed to be better than me in this, obviously), and then he GAVE UP at MM7's final boss, but I persevered and won.  So MM7 holds a special place in my heart for that.

The last remaining percentage is because it was Bass's first appearance.

Back on topic with my opinion on MM9, if it is going to be 8-bit I must say that I'm a bit disappointed, I was hoping to see what Capcom could do with the classic MM series with today's technology and I don't mean like they did with the MMX series. I guess I just wanted something diffrent.

Now THIS is interesting:

"GS: You talked about how people were trying to graphically exceed the capabilities of the Famicom, but what about the temptation to exceed some other capabilities, such as flicker, slowdown, sprite limits, and stuff like that? Was it really hard to get people to stay within the confines of what they could have done, if this had come out after Mega Man 6 in 1993?

HT: Yeah, there were some things, like you couldn’t have more than three enemies on the screen at once, so we had to make sure that that’s how it stayed in our game. In the part with the dragon with the flame, [there should be] flickering, and whatnot.

In the options of this game, you can adjust that, unlike the old games. We purposely put some of those old-school bugs into this game, so it does recreate that feel."

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/3752/he_is_8bit_capcoms_hironobu_.php

You can turn on and off the glitches in this one.

Neat.

Don't blame Capcom, blame Nintendo, they're the ones who control everything VC.

Capcom said Today because Nintendo told them today, but Nintendo probably changed their minds without telling them.

No, you don't.  You own ##### ports that reflect the original games as well as a 90 year old hobo represents himself as he was as an olympic athlete at 20.

I really want to buy them, but I don't want to waste points.

Hint: you can never waste money buying nearly 100% NES accurate Mega Man 1 and 2 games.  If you don't have an NES and a cartridge, VC is the ONLY way to play the games.  Unless Mega Man 1 and 2 go a completely different route than every other VC game that's come so far.

The obvious reason that I want to buy them on the VC is that they're infinitely superior to the Anniversary Collection versions, so don't worry, bud. I know. I know.

And by "waste points", I meant that maybe I should buy a different VC game, one that I haven't played hundreds and hundreds of times already.

I'll still probably just buy a 2,000 Point card and buy MM1, MM2, and MM9 with it.
