I never really even paid attention to them.

EDIT: No one else does either apparently.

I know I've seen a few noobish posts like pointless polls and junk use the thumbs up and down icons.

Hey guys, check out what the 2nd most popular Virtual Console game is! MegaMan 1 is right under Super Mario Bros. 3!

I think that shows how much people love the CLASSIC MegaMan, and not the retarded new series.

Beat MegaMan 1 in 43 minutes. I think my score was 1,312,600. It couldn't have been 100,000 because Wily gives you 200,000 at the end I think.

Overall I think I did pretty good. Only times I died were FireMan and GutsMan's stages. FireMan was probably around 3 times and GutsMan was 2 deaths. No Game Overs. (that's a first for me.)

Now I'm hyped up for MegaMan 2 and 9!

I don't know if it posted before, but did anyone see the achievements for MM9?

So easy. :) When I was young, I never really used Robot Master weapons in the game.

Good luck!

I know what it's FOR, I just don't know WHY anyone thinks it's a good idea. I love how this is supposed to be all about being a classic game and then they go and put one of the absolute lamest "new" things into it. Achievements should just be a checklist or something for unlockables at best, but it shouldn't have anything to do with your account or anything.

It's like that VGCats comic with the dick hats. Achievements... Jesus. They're so annoying that I just made a VGCats reference, and I don't even like that most of the time.

FINALLY. The gay cataclysm theory is disproven by Keiji Inafune himself!

Last week Capcom-Unity invited fans to send in questions, ten of which selected to be answered by the mega man himself, Keiji Inafune. Here are a couple choice inquiries to Keiji:

1) Did Zero really "kill" the family between the events of the Classic Mega Man and X series?

KI: No, Zero did not kill them. According to the way I created him, Zero is not such a person--it is not in his profile.

6) What happened to Dr. Wily in Rockman X series? Are Dr. Wily and Dr. Weil the same person? Were they ever supposed to be?

KI: A large amount of time has passed between the classic series and Mega Man X. Dr. Wily had died in the interim but was brought back by the virus. Dr. Wily and Weil are not the same person. It is ironic though, because Dr. Wily created Zero, and Dr. Weil used Zero, but ultimately it was a copy of Zero's original body with a different mind that defeated him.

I love how the second question puts "Rockman X", but then later he puts Dr. Weil. *sigh*

http://protodudesrockmancorner.blogspot.com/2008/09/convincing-rockman-9-rumors-surface-dlc.html

A bunch of plausible rumors. Yeah, they're rumors, but they're not too far-fetched, and honestly, at this point, it's really all we have to go on.
Notable ones are "Blues" being playable, Buster shot mods... and, this one is a killer: "Shooting Star Rockman" costume. UGH.

Also, several sources seem to be pointing to a September 22nd release on WiiWare, which goes hand-in-hand with that September 24th rumor for XBLA.

StarForce costume is said to be Japan-only. I'm fine with THAT.

It's coming from Protodude though, from some random guy. I won't believe it until it's out and proven.

Yeah. It'd be nice to see this game on the 22nd. I really hope it doesn't come out much later than that.

If the rumors are true, I'll be happy for all of it but the StarForce costume, but if that's Japan exclusive, then it's a win.

The Zero series isn't all bad, and it does some pretty interesting things in contrast with the X series.

Name one.

I like the idea that Zero was fighting for a cause to stop Mavericks in the X series. However, he sees the other side of coin as he is labeled as a Maverick.

The underlying theme to the Zero series is actually a question: what IS a maverick? Is it just a name humans label Reploids who do not wish to obey the orders they are given? A way to keep robots in line from becoming too powerful? Or are they REALLY Reploids who have become infected by a virus? Since his discovery, robots were replicated from X's design in order to emulate free will (much like humans do). So if a Reploid had a specified job and decided to use their free will to "quit" working without the consent of the human who hired/created/ordered it, is it ok to label that Reploid as a Maverick?

I think it's interesting. It's something that was never really touched upon in the X series, and Mega Man Zero kind of bridges the gap in that department.

Zero STARTED as a Maverick in X, and the stigma from that still follows him which comes up in X4 - X6 as well as him being labeled as a Maverick in both X6 and Command Mission.  Sorry, but that's not a new concept MMZ came up with and it barely expanded on what had been done in the X series.

You just summerized the plot of Mega Man X.

:: golf clap ::

X did the same thing, and it did it FAR better than Zero ever did, since X was created specifically to deal with this issue.  All Mega Man Zero does is put Zero in a diaper and vest and whine (if he ever did anything at all what with being reduced to a personalityless doll).  That's not even the FOCUS of the Zero series.  It's about the energy crisis and Reploids just being wiped out to conserve fuel.  There is really even less focus on Reploids are people too than in the X series outside of the energy angle.

If by "never really touched upon" you mean "a major part of" and by "bridges the gap" you mean "offers nothing new and rehashes much more poorly ideas better done in X" then yes, you are absolutely correct.

I think you need to stop sniffing your paint Morg.  Please, we all love you!

Zero is only a Maverick in the X series for a brief period of time (his introduction and the alternate ending to X5). For the rest of the series, he's a Maverick Hunter. Zero and Sigma represent  the idea that nothing is absolute in the X timeline, while the Zero series takes the same concept to further ask the question of what it is to be a Maverick.

Far be it from me to show interest in the Zero games, Rez. I like them, not as much as Classic, X, and legends, mind you, but I do enjoy them.

POWER SHOT!

I liked the Zero series too; like Morg. But I already know how things go around here so don't mind me blabber on about it.

I just like certain parts of the series, like how X is dead/a ghost and Zero's in a clone body and has to face off against his real body. ##### like the elves and everything centered around them should be brought into reality, given an organic body and be killed with fire. I really liked the idea of the Dark Elf being a special power to instantly corrupt minds and transform people, I really think thats a good concept for the series, its too bad its still a #####ing elf. DEATH GET

Then theres Neo Arcadia and Copy X, both were great concepts and with some adjustments I think they would be damn near excellent and maybe fit for the X series.
