Yes, yes.

But what use is the Plug Ball?

I don't really like Plug Ball.

It's a nice weapon. It attacks enemies on the ground. That's it's use.

But you fire it like Ice Wave from Mega Man 8. It shoots straight down.

Eh, I guess it can hit things that your Buster won't normally reach on the ground.
Like those spinning green things in Jewel Man's stage...
... but then that's really the only time you'd need to, and I always shoot them in the air anyway.

I use Jewel Satelite in that stage anyway, so I still think Plug Ball is dumb in comparison.

Jewel Satelite takes out those things easy.

EDIT: Oh you mean Jewel man's stage. I'm thinking about the yellow things in Plug Man's. >.>;

You can still shoot the green things with your buster because they hop up after hitting a wall. Plus, they're easy as hell to hit on the way down, anyway.

Okay, so as I've already said, I'm trying for Mr. Perfect No-Damage run.

So far I've beaten both Galaxy Man and Jewel Man's levels. I needed those two defensive weapons, and Galaxy Man's stage and fight is easy as hell, so I started there.

Now I've been trying Plug Man's stage for a while. Five times in a row already, I've gotten hit WHILE throwing the last blow to Plug Man with Jewel Sattelite.

UGH.

I'm probably not going to attempt that dumb challenge. That includes going through the Wily Levels and everything right?

Good luck on that.

Yeah, but I'm not doing it for that Challenge. I used to try this on all of the old NES MegaMan games and I haven't done something like this in ages.

It's fun enough on the regular levels and I'm having a blast doing it, but when I get to the Wily Stages... ugh. I have a feeling it's going to be more frustration and less fun.

Posted on: 25 September 2008, 16:57:52

Okay, just beat Plug Man, and then went off to Tornado Man's stage.

BEAT IT ON THE FIRST TRY, NO DAMAGE.

WHAT WHAT.

PS3 and 360 ports confirmed to use BN Mega Man and Tornado Man and Splash Woman replaced by Harpuia and Leviathian.  Also, items from shop have been removed in favor of DLC power ups that you can reuse a certain number of times before you need to buy them agian.  360 version also features multiplayer voice chat that allows for other players to control stage enemies, but the catch is the game isn't playable offline because of this.

Seems nice so far, beat SplashWoman first since I always go for water/ice people first.

I don't like how they have high-res Capcom and IntiCreates logos at the start, and I don't like how they have modern fades between screens instead of NES style pallette swap fades.

They have the text fade in and out properly in most of the story, but not the images themselves.

And I don't like the "screw" pick-up sound effect or the fact that they're screws and not bolts...

BUT!

Enough negativity, it's awesome, and feels so good to be playing fresh, new, classic, oldskool MegaMan!

Nice WaveMan bubble-bit homage in SplashWoman's stage, too :P

Yeah, personally... I miss the shiny Capcom 8-bit/16-bit logos at the beginning of my games.

Bolts > Screws too.

Yeah, I don't like the hi-res logos during the load-up either. I figured they'd have fun with it and make them 8-bit on purpose.

It would be great if MM9 is like The Last Starfighter and the first person to get that Mr. Perfect thing gets taken away to become a real life Mega Man and fight real life robots in real life.

Also, I do not want that shirt. I do, however, like the Street Fighter one.

It's a different effect entirely, methinks.
Or I'm forgetting how it sounds in later NES games. :\

Hmm. That actually might be worth the $2.

In the old NES games, the noise is "wawawa"

In MM9, it's a different sound effect, and the noise stops after its done charging, which is good.

RockMan 9 Arrange samples

Galaxy Fantasy and Hornet Dance, they sound really great! Better than the other arrange albums before. I love Hornet Dance, and Galaxy Fantasy sounds pretty funky.

Yeah, you didn't know that?

ANYWAY OH DEAR GOD

I AM ABOUT TO CLUB SOME BABY SEALS

I AM SO #####ING PISSED RIGHT NOW

So, I've beaten every boss except Concrete Man without getting hit. And I'm playing his stage, and I got hit RIGHT in front of the boss door.

So I go in and fight him anyway, just to practice without getting hit.

And I won, without getting hit.

And in my excitement, I SAVED OVER MY FILE.

BUT I GOT HIT IN THAT STAGE.

SO NOW I HAVE TO START ALL OVER.

AND I'M NOT GOING TO.
