There's Ninja, Zerker, and Saurian.
Ninjas are obviously ninjas (wood type), Zerkers are like medieval knights (elec type), and Saurians are obviously dinosaurs (fire type.)
BrotherBands are actually an integral part of the childish plot that the series has, which is about the powers of friendship and having people by your side at all times. Totally gaywad if you ask me, because it totally bashes loners and such and makes it seem as if it's easy to make friends if your life actually sucks. Like, in the first game, the main character's dad is lost in space, and as silly as that is, it warrants some sympathy. But a 5th-grader being emo is ridiculous, and that's the direction they took the story. And people WANTED to be friends with him, badly. Which is even more stupid, because in real life, those are the kids that everyone stays away from and stuff in elementary school. Then he meets an alien called Omega-Xis and suddenly they merge and it's totally #####ing rad (not) and they become MegaMan (yeah #####ing right.)
So basically, in the first game, BrotherBands were limited to like three people because you had to have NPCs fill some of your BrotherBand spots. In this game, only one NPC has to fill your spot, and I don't think it's necessary. It's called like an AutoBrother or something. The 4 normal NPC's take up seperate spots on a different menu, so you essentially can have a friends list of up to 6 Brothers online. You can send the mail, trade cards, fight them and such.
So, yay, power of friendship and all.
But to top it all off, in this game, there's a secret ultimate mode which requires you to CUT OFF ALL YOUR BROTHERBANDS so if you want the game's biggest secret, you can't even have any online friends. It's called Rogue Mode, which is supposed to be based off one of the villains who goes through life on his own and thinks friends are stupid. Guess what his name is? Guess.
His name is Solo.
Solo.
Yes.
SOLO.
GOOD JOB CAPCOM.
So, basically, the ultimate secret in this game requires you to cut off all your BrotherBands which defeats the purpose of the story and lesson they were trying to teach by saying Brothers/friends are super-important and stuff.

Capcom actually DID make a game with normal online play, minus mic support so there's not 8 year olds screaming that their "Megaman" is better than yours. Seriously, it's got random matchup and all. BB is just to guarantee you fight someone, like all FC based games, and allows you to trade cards to and from, as well as enhances useless numbers in the main game for perks.
PS, game flopped anyways, but LOLAMERICANS don't count to CoJ's master plans, or basically any fans for that matter, so buy at your leisure.

I bought SF 1 and 2 the other day, I was hoping it would be better than what I've heard, but it really wasn't. The main problem I think is that they've made it soooooo dumbed down. I mean seriously, color coded battle chip selection? Were letters really that hard? I do kinda like the new battle system with the 3D, but the old way is still better. The bosses are way too predictable, Like the Queen Snake-lady-person. All she does is spam her ground snakes. Its ####ing stupid. I think the overall problem with the series is that almost none of it is fresh. The "tribes" are just like the "souls" from BN, the chips are the same, bosses have the same attacks pretty much, I just wish Capcom could get some OC into their games. It's crazy how unimaginative they are sometimes. Writing a decent game script for a game like this shouldn't be rocket science, but to Capcom apparently it is. I hope 3 is better, but who am I kidding, it'll be the same ##### again.

I'm not going to lie, since once I beat it and ZXA and play through all three levels of Model a's mini game, I'm dumping both of these off at Gamestop to collect probably a good down payment towards FFVI DS, or else pick up more 360 games to own and never play, because I missed out on them.
So... This mean Star Force has null replay value, then, or did Capcom just burn us out?
