You gotta admit that the metal blades were all you used in MM2, though.
I go get those first and them use them pretty much all the time. They're undoubtedly the handiest weapon in the entirety of the games.

I don't think X ever gets any omni-directional weapons... well, there is Izzy Glow's weapon, but it's slow. Oh, well.

For some reason I use Bubble Lead and Quick Boomerang a lot in MM2.

I mean, I rarely use weapons at all, but I use those just a little less than I used Metal Blades.

Quick Boomerang is lowspeed, but you have a million of them and they really live up to their name.

The Bubble Lead is just extremely tactical. I liked it when the weapons themselves had good uses.

Now that I think about it, many X weapons can be used to shoot "up." There's at least one in each game.

X1: Boomerang Cutter, among others
X2: Bubble Splash, among others
X3: Triad Thunder, among others
X4: Rising Fire (DERR), among others
X5: Firefly Laser and Wing Spiral
X6: Meteor Rain
X7: Explosion (charged) and Sniper Missle
X8: Shining Ray and Green Spinner (charged)

As you can see, X doesn't need the ability to shoot up, as every game has some weapon that lets him do so.  END OF FREAKING STORY. PERIOD. FIN.

I'd say Magnet Mine and Silk Shot are better at shooting up than Bubble Splash is.

But the point is that it's difficult to dodge these attacks because you have to dash, not duck.

You guys are starting to sound like those people who want X to be able to shoot up...

It's logical. Besides, he can shoot up when using other weapons.
From the point of view that it makes the game more difficult, yeah, I guess that's okay, but then if you could shoot up, imagine how clever they could be.

Oh, wait, this is Capcom.
Never mind that.

This is why I like Chron.

He and I. We see POTENTIAL.

Jesus, name the last idea they had that didn't send Rez on a rampage.

Well as Jesus won't be coming online today (he's got a family thing, you know) I'll name this in his stead; 8-bit MM9. Thank you.

they're professionals.

Since when?

Note that I was talking about the animation, not the game design, at that point. Call them what you will, their animation staff is still quite adequate.

I think it meant in that exact position, X can't hurt any of those things. Not even if he jumps. Because the last robot dude's too high up. Obviously in the game itself, X can move around and find a way to kill all of these things.

The thing would jump at him by the time that happened, making the whole point of charging to hit something low to the floor moot.

You should charge, though, because one shot's not enough to kill the thing in midair before it hits you.

You'd miss. Wouldn't you? I mean, isn't that the point of this? You HAVE to charge because the thing is too low to shoot? Where am I? This isn't Wal-Mart? Where is my wife?

I want a game like X1-3.
Yes.
I do, too.  I miss those days.  The series started heading downhill when they moved to the PS1.  X4 and X5 were pretty good, but then it got really bad.  X8 was a major improvement over X7, but I didn't like how they designed some of the stages.  Just didn't feel like X.

The PS1 era was pretty good and probably my favorite. X1 was really the best of the SNES bunch, X2 and 3 felt like they wanted to add more and more to X1.

I still prefer X1-3 X for gameplay, but Zero never played as well before and probably never will play as well as again as he did in X4.  His move set was absolutely perfect.  It would be nice to see 16bit Zero play like his 32 bit X4 version.

If this actually happened which sound system should be used?  X1, X2, or X3?

Personally I like X1's simplicity, even though I know they have to add new armor and all that to it. I think it should just be basic like the first 3, 4 Subs, 8 Hearts, NO SHOP and NO AXL.

I liked the sound in X3... but the most memorable tunes were X1.
Consider that I've played X2 maybe twice in the past ten years.

4 armor capsules, 8 heart tanks, 4 E-tanks, and a special capsule which allows X to do the Sonic Boom and Zero to do the Hurricane Kick.

X1 sound.  X1 was miles better than 2 or 3.  Though I liked 2 a LOT better than 3.

4 armor capsules, 8 heart tanks, 4 E-tanks, and a special capsule which allows X to do the Sonic Boom and Zero to do the Hurricane Kick.

You mean 4 sub tanks?  I'd also add 1 W tank.  And I'd go the X4 route with picking X OR Zero, not alternating.

When you could pick either-or, the game sort of devolved into a mix-and-match playground instead of a continuous narrative.

X5 was a bullet to the head of Mega Man X.  Inafune and Capcom killed it ages ago.

Actually, I would say it was a charged shot to the head and balls for X. X5 was yes, a disgrace. This Zero series/ ZX is a piss job as far as I'm concerned. *foams at the mouth with fury.*

Honestly, I think the original was the best in the series. I liked 2 after that and I just hated 3, but I think the game should have new graphics, it would be neat to see 16 bit graphics but still. Oh, I also agree with the 8 hearts 4 subs and for capsules thing also.

I thought X3 was good just...

not as good...

It's certainly no X5, at least it's that.

(Not comparing it to X7 because it's redundant)

I really liked X3...
Gold armor, ride armors, Neon Tiger....
X getting Zero's saber, playing as Zero for the first time...
It had a lot of good features.

It was X1 or 2 though.
X2 had the green biker dude.

I think that Capcom should make it a 16-bit game. The creation of the first three X games were their golden days in my opinion. If Capcom can return to the 8-bit game style with MegaMan 9 then they can certainly go back to the 16-bit style with the X series.

There's enough to know what's coming next, Inafune said it himself; he'd REALLY like to make a L3 if he had enough money. And with the help of fan support, it could come true, according to how successful MM9 was.

He's been saying similar things for years, and fan support has been there longer. MM9 was a great thing, but that doesn't just mean flood gates are open, as much anyone would like them to be.

I've never even finished the first Legends game and I want Legends 3, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

It's going to be a while before L3 is going to happen, since it seems impossible to do right now to Capcom. I think we're going to be going on a hiatus from Mega Man for a while though (if that even seems possible), since series are ending faster than they started. Theres no telling where these games are going besides for L3, X9, and probably, most likely, some other new ##### series/game.

If they ever do make an X9, (That is if Capcom doesn't  relies on how much money made was on past games, kinda pisses me off that they go by that factor.) then it would be nice that they have the same game play, if not better, as X8. Soooo much BS with Capcom and it's fans right?
