Sonic Rush Adventure was the same as Sonic Rush, except with tons of unnecessary added tidbits. Every time you beat a level, you got a few materials akin to iron ore, metals, and other things, but all more Sonic-ized. You were able to use them to build ships and reach further levels.
You had to then ride those ships, like a speedboat, and jetski, or a full-on pirate-ship to travel across different types of water terrain and find new levels.
It was a bit unlinear, and it pulled that off quite well, especially for a platform game like Sonic. However, after a while, it just becomes a hassle to replay the same levels over and over again to get the exact materials you need.
The ship-riding parts were kind of cool, though, but only a limited amount of cool - I'd rather just play the game without them.
