So you're saying that just because the game has "gone Gold", they won't go back into development if they find any major bugs? Anyway, comments from a friend at another forum: By the way, the JP release was only delayed a week, which is a little weird because a week is nowhere near enough time to fix an error AND re-mass produce hundreds of thousands of copies. People have suggested it's a bug or coding error of some sort but that's simply impossible. ...for the JP release at least. Who knows what's going on.
Someone suggested the US version was having "controversial" content removed, which is actually not all that far-fetched since it happened with Melee. Would usually be just a few trophies, or worse, some music, if there were licensing issues.
Then someone else mentioned this:
QUOTE The delay is due to a shortage of Wii Optical Discs. Those take some time to manufacture. Of course, Japan is going to get priority over the newly-produced discs. English mass-production has probably barely started, if at all.
If there's anything to blame here, it's not Sakurai. It's the Wii, for selling so well.
Sounds plausible too, meh. I just want my #####in Smash =[
