About the conversation earlier, even though I like GS over Red and Blue, your head is twisted ASR. Yeah, the best starters were Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur... but c'mon.

Cyndaquil and Tododile were awesome. Mostly Tododile (if I'm spelling that right) but I love all their evolved forms. Chikorita was just meh, even when evolved.

I'd prefer all the Red/Blue starters over the GS ones except for Squirtle and Tododile. That's just a hard choice personally. I mean, one's a huge gator, and one will be a turtle with GUNS.

That's true. Gators are awesome, so are turtles. But turtle with GUNS. Well. That's pretty much it for gator.

Growlithe/Arcanine is definitely one of my favourites too, in terms of fire Pokemon. I can't think of one better, really.

My favorite Pokemon memories are:

A) wasting my Master Ball on a Ponyta. I'm perpetually ashamed of this. I figured we'd get more Master Balls! And it was the first time I saw Ponyta, so I was all "HOLY CRAP CATCH IT GO"

B) catching Mewtwo with a Great Ball. Since I didn't have the Master Ball, I had to resort to Ultra Balls... but for some reason, I ran out of those, and I'll never forget the triumph of catching him with a Great Ball. Most people don't believe me. Maybe I'm making up the memory. But it's still a good memory, false or not.

C) using Gameshark to glitch the game so I could walk through walls... thus allowing me to go all the way to the Elite Four WITHOUT EVER CHOOSING A STARTER POKEMON IN THE BEGINNING.

Yeah I used a Master Ball on Articuno the first time for a similar reason. I thought I'd get more and I thought Articuno was this legendary Pokémon everyone was talking about.

I caught the red Gyarados in Silver. That was pretty cool.

I actually did the same thing, but with an Arbok... I seriously also thought I'd get more Master Balls, and I was just all "GIANT SNAKE MUST CATCH IT'S RARE".


Anyway, I can't wait to catch that red Gyarados again in the remakes... also on my Silver, a long while back I find a pink Mareep around that area with the Gyarados, I thought the game glitched, but it was the real deal. I raised it and evolved into Flaffy (which was also pink) and then into Ampharos, and I think it was purple.

Any other shiny I've gotten after that were crap... Seaking in Diamond... Paras in Fire Red.

I've never done that with a Masterball. The game kinda implied that it was special and it didn't tell me how to get more, so I just assumed everyone knew it was THE ball. I've always been stingy on games and if I had only one of something and I had no way to back it up, I wouldn't rid it from my collection.

Of course, this means I never used a Masterball until I learned a cheat on how to duplicate them. >.>;

And I tend not to duplicate Rare candies. It kinda spoils the challenge.

I ended up sharking the hell out of that game, so much that if I go into my pack, with or without the gameshark, I have infinite master balls and rare candies.

I don't remember how I did that. I think I coded in a weird value for each. And it just doesn't subtract from whatever value I put in.

I don't think I'd play another Pokemon anyway though. If I did I'd do it legitimately.

They aren't. Just mine are special.

And I really don't remember shiny anything in G/S but it doesn't matter, this Gyarados wasn't under that category so anyone who got it could only get it at that one point in the game, you wouldn't find another one.

The idea of a red Gyarados was always cool, made it look more fierce. Heck yeahs.

Not to mention (though I really do mention) the pattern of the "shines" was only made to follow the image of the Gyarados, so if you encountered another shiny enemy the shines were all wonky.
