I might actually start playing the first Sonic games. This game's announcement really didn't shake me until I saw the WiiWare logo. KA-CHING.

The teaser's Sonic's running animation is weird. I dunno why, it just looks... choppy? Why did they have to change it, really? The good ol' "running so fast they look like a wheel" spinning legs looked better, IMO.

OMG SONICS EYES R GREEN NOT BLAK WTF!!11!

Seriously, 12 comments in the Sega Blog was all it took for that to be posted.

Apparently according to Sega Sonic's not running at full speed in the trailer.

... but why would they have him running SLOWER when they get to Sonic 4?

Because for a couple of years, the key members of the Sonic Team have had way too many office parties. They don't know what they're doing anymore, I say.

I mean, the past few Sonic games, they've been boasting that Sonic is getting faster and faster after every title.

Damn straight he's not running at full speed, he's walking.

Isn't the point of a Sonic game (at least the clasic ones) speed? Why wouldn't they show Sonic running in a teaser? :|

They don't really need the spinning legs, but Sonic's running animation in Brawl wasn't bad...

hey guys have some sonic 4 leaked video

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3177976

The physics are a little buggy but it is an alpha build of the game.

Things to note out:

-Three Acts per Zone + Boss Act
-Four Zones per Episode (12 if there's 3 Episodes, which means 36 stages in all)
-Classic SAAAY-GAAAH
-Classic Title Screen too!
-Sonic has spinny feet compared to the Genesis games (haven't seen that in awhile)
-FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU ASTERON Mad Gear Zone confirmed to be the asshole zone of the game (like how Metropolis Zone is an asshole in Sonic 2)

Yeah, that gameplay is a bit different.

Only four zones per episode? That's a bit short for my money...

Well, that footage looks good for an aplha build. Except for the infamous running animation. It does look proportional to his speed, but it still does look weird. But then again, it's an alpha.

Vinchenz, you forgot to mention the Special Stage in the video. With that, counting boss stages, it makes for a total of 13 stages per game. If they are lengthy and entertaining enough, it just may be worth the 10 bucks they are going to charge (note: assuming it's around 1000 Wii Points. Don't know other money-points rates).

Not interested enough to go digging for the video. As long as they have a similar running animation, I'm happy, y'know the one, where his feet turn into some red spiral when he's going top speed.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/107/1071620p1.html

Things that caught my eye that you guys might also find interesting:

  • Mega Man 10, coming March 21st.
  • Cave Story will be released March 22nd.
  • "WarioWare DIY, March 28. Available as a retail DS version and a WiiWare companion piece."
  • Pokemon Heart Gold/ Silver coming to retail March 14.
  • Read article for information on Mario Galaxy 2.
  • "New first-party game, 100 Classic Books. Features everything from Dracula to Journey to the Center of the Earth. Basically, public domain stuff that Nintendo doesn't have to pay for but can make millions with. $19.99 on DS."
  • DSi XL will launch March 28 for $189.99.
  • Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M will ship earlier than expected this year.

I didn't find release dates on Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M. I may have missed it somewhere through the skimming if it exists. If not, just look elsewhere for information.

And if you're curious, the VC library currently stands at 347 titles. On WiiWare, 189 titles. Altogether, more than 500 downloadable games. 127 games and applications on DSiWare.

I've been playing through a bunch of Metroid games recently and I don't know why. Just re-played Super Metroid and Metroid Prime. About to start MP2, which I've never played before. Then I might re-play MP3. So, I'm very excited for Other M now whereas a month ago I couldn't have cared less.

Mario Galaxy 2 is going to be great.

But the real kicker is...

NEW HANDHELD WARIOWARE?

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSS

And thank god that March 21st thing for MegaMan 10 was a typo.

When did I get back into videogames like this? Geez. It all happened so fast.

Hello fellow MMM members, it would be nice if I can get some input with FFXIII weather I should get it for PS3 or the 360, I ask this because I go to other gamming sites and all they talk about is PS3 better than 360 or the other way around and it seems this is the only place were ppl don't go Dee Dee Dee when it comes to stuff like this-.-" .

The PS3 version will probably be only on one disc, and considering the 360 version is really just a port (from everything I've heard) and will be on 2-4 discs (only what I've heard) I'd recommend the PS3 version. It'll probably be much crisper.

Although I'd suggest not to get it at all but that's just me.

It's not a matter of finding him funny. Carlos Mencia simply is NOT funny. Anything funny he has ever said in his entire life (which amounts two a total two seconds of funny) was stolen from the mouth of every "fun uncle" or crappy racist chain letter sent around the office just like everything else he says.

He doesn't have any REAL material, he isn't even actually Mexican, and his career was built by Comedy Central as a quick-fix replacement for Chappelle. He's scum.

I don't like Dane Cook or Jeff Dunham, but I can sympathize with both of them. Dane Cook just succumbed to the easy comedy that attracts vacant-headed college kids to make money, and Jeff Dunham had been working for decades before he hit it big so I don't blame him for coasting along with empty and unfunny racist jokes.

Carlos Mencia is just an idiot.

I've never liked Dane Cook, and I used to love Jeff Dunham until he got popular... which is about the time he was on youtube with Achmed the Dead Terrorist.

And I went through an idiotic phase where I was into Carlos Mencia. What I mean by "idiotic phase", I knew it was bad, but I pretended it was good just to keep watching to see if it got any better. Because of that, I die on the inside every time someone refers to him. Especially one of his terrible and racist jokes.

It's not your fault. It's not your fault. It's not your fault.

But yeah, Dunham had been around for a VERY long time and didn't catapult to fame until he found a way to capitalize on post-9/11 terrorist fears with his Achmed character.

Especially one of his terrible and racist jokes.

This is funny because it implies he has jokes that don't fit that criteria.

Hey, I actually kinda liked him when he had Achmed. But seriously... his popularity with him just kills it. He has so much better material than that, and all I hear from people is, "SILENCE! I KILL YOU!"

... like, ALL THE TIME. It's ANNOYING.

I can't even tell it to them back I'm so sick of it. He even had a promotional video with his fans in it blatantly going off about how great he is with Achmed. Nobody even knew about him until his skit with Achmed had so much views on Youtube.

Oh, but enough of that rant. Carlos Mencia is worse anyway.

I always wondered why they went to all the trouble of creating an engine as innovative as Portal's and then wasting it on a 3 hour gameplay experience. Multiplayer will be great, especially if they get some co-op going; I don't see deathmatches working too well since it's such a puzzle-oriented gameplay experience. On the other hand, Capture the Flag (or Capture the Weighted Companion Cube) would be great. :P

Am I the only one who thought Portal being 3 hours long was one of the greatest things about it? It was such a breath of fresh air to have a short, concise game that explored everything it could, impressed the player thoroughly, and didn't overstay its welcome. I loved that it can be played through in such a short time to the point where that's one of the things I frequently cite as to why I love it so much.

I don't know if I'm happy with Portal 2 being "a full-fledged game." Does that mean it'll be as long as Half-Life 2? That was fine for Half-Life 2, which employed a crapload of different gameplay styles and mechanics throughout... but I think three hours of Portal gameplay is perfect and any longer will only hurt it. We'll see what they have in store for us.
