When I was a kid I read a LOT, and there was like, just some single moment in time between Harry Potter 5 and 6 where the planets all aligned and everybody was standing on their left foot at the same time and every dog was blinking just then... and BAM!

I hardly ever read anymore. I just re-read the same old stuff, and occasionally, very rarely, I find something new.

As lame as all the merchandising and such has made it, Harry Potter was pretty awesome and still is, even though I'm not a big fan.

They were fun books. I still have to finish the 6th and read the 7th. Neither will happen for a long time, probably.

I don't like the series, I hate it now. But I'd be lying if I didn't say I read them in 5th grade and shat bricks of joy.

My friend loves Harry Potter, I tease her all the time about it. And she teases me about MegaMan. I'll find an advantage.. one day...

I started reading them when I was the age of the characters in the second book, 12 (and at that point, the first three had come out). So it was appropriate timing. I still love them, but I know that if they were coming out now I'd have nothing to do with them.

Ninja's don't read Harry Potter.

Ninja's read Harry Potter's birth certificate BEFORE he was born (which he was) and then written about (which he was).

I think people who don't have at least two major fictional obsessions are broken.

Currently, my fictional obsessions are Gurren Lagann and everything Guitar Hero. It's fictional as my ability to play guitar is not non-fiction.

There's no such thing as East Vancouver. There's Vancouver and Burnaby, nothing in between.

South Vancouver, West Vancouver and North Vancouver, however, all exist.

Anything east of west Vancouver is east Vancouver.

Yes, that's using global logic to state that there is an entire stripe around the world that is east Vancouver.

I really hate any place where general populace thinks they live in the best place in the country/world.

Famously and stereotypically, Vancouver and Toronto are such places.

Only by people born and raised IN Toronto. Which means they are most like either (A) Big, fat, stinky, semi-bearded, booze-y woman. Or (B), a very dumb and untalented man.

That stereotype brought to you by the rest of Canada (mainly the prairies).

I was born in Toronto, half of my life raised out in the country, and then back to Toronto. So thankfully I'm not a complete moron.

Which helps your suspicion. Go you!

ALRIGHT

SO. About that Digimon World game, its looking more and more bleak everytime I try to get it. No matter what I do, it's like some super natural force is keeping me from playing or ever obtaining it. I've gone through numerous ways to get it, including illegal ways, but what pisses me off is I actually got a real copy of the game, thanks to VRock, he generously bought it for me, to which I am extremely grateful, though, the game didn't work. I have no idea why, the disc was in great condition. I'm just so pissed.. and so very very tired of trying for this game.. its a kid game and I probably shouldn't be stressing over it, but it was my favorite game back in the day, and I have a lot of happy memories playing it..

Something is keeping me from playing this game..

I heard about that on something or other but I really do NOT want to watch it.

Another funny story I heard recently is that somewhere, not sure if it's in the U.S. somewhere or in BC somewhere but I'm pretty sure I heard it was west coast, that some people thought a "family" or "school" of bottlenose dolphins was living in some river. Which is, clearly, impossible. They'd have no reason to swim upstream ever really, the ocean has loads of fish for them which is why they're worldwide in the first place. So anyway, some guy decides he's gonna do the whole "swim the dolphins" thing for free. Well, turns out that they are probably sharks. Not only that, but the type of shark they probably are is one of the most common human-biters variety of shark there is. The guy was fine and nothing happened, but still... Who does that? Hell, who thinks bottlenose dolphins are in a river?
