I just found out this fun command for Macs.

Okay Mac users, press

Mac Button+Option+Ctrl+8

Does anyone else know other cool commands like this? I remember my friend and I figured out a Microsoft command to turn the screen upside down, and we would do it to all of the school computers.

Whats Fn?

The most useful ones I use are the expose ones, the F9-F12 keys.

It's to the left of Control, marked with "fn" on an iBook and probably every other Mac made in the 21st Century. And yes, it stands for "Function". It's the button allows all kinds of secondary (or third or fourth after Alt and Alt+Shift) functions of keys.

For instance, since the 12" iBook G4's keyboard is too small to have a proper numpad, holding function allows keys in the... Well I call it the "normal part"... of the keyboard to assume that numpad fuction. Function+M is 0, for example. Of course, you rarely need a numpad like that anyway, although I prefer them on real keyboards.

Note: For what OD is mentioning, pressing that sequence won't look like it does anything unless you hold it and scroll your mouse wheel or trackpad or whatever ya got. There's a similar one, that zooms the WHOLE screen, taskbar and all, and I believe you can leave it zoomed but I forgot what keys you use.

I like the one that turns the screen black and white.
IF you do at the same time as you click the option in the universal access menu, it inverts all the colors on the screen.

Heheh. It wasn't on Macs, but there were new computers at High School, and we figured out how to flip the screens upside down.

We did it to all the computers. It was a fun one time prank.

Someone found a mirrored Google website and then flipped the screen. The teacher thought someone broke it entirely and began writing referrals.

Yup.

This was the page.

She literally thought the whole computer was screwed up, even though after we flipped it up right, the desktop was fine.

EDIT: Yeah, I can't believe I forgot this and she didn't notice it. It even blatantly says at the bottom that the page is mirrored in normal text.

Okay so does OD's command invert the screen? Seeing as I don't have a Mac and no one else seems to want to talk about what it does. I mean I just looked up and that's what I saw and I'm coming here for confirmation on that.

It's weird to see one normal picture in a completely inverted screen.

Anyway, the Mac button is actually called "Command" by the way.

What is the command?

... My findings. (URL at the end of my comment; maybe you'll find more.)

Comment #32  (Posted by an unknown user)

Also on XP there is one I dicovered by accident, control+alt and either which arrow you want to flip your screen.

Comment #49  (Posted by an unknown user)
the screen flipping one is graphics card specific... therefor not a windows keyboard shortcut... although very fun

This does not work for me however

Yeah, there are a bunch of computers that the screen flipping works on but it's never worked on a computer I've owned.

from all the googling i've done it he past five minutes, it seems to be a video card thing, and hence not really a command code.

Either way, Now Ive got something fun to do if I ever go to starbucks and some idiot leaves their lappy sitting.

Well, my computer comes with a remote.
This remote is infrared.
Every remote effects every other laptop of the same build, and I have one of those HPs that everyone seems to have.

I sit in the back of class and start programs on other's laptops with my remote and they get so friggin confused.
It's great.

Then I tell them after class that I was doing it my remote and they didn't even know their computer had one.

Pranks, yay.

I'd love to get my hands on preventers style track jacket with the dark blue replaced with black.

Infact, WINDUH will probably be getting a revamp pretty soon. Sporting those colours.

Yes and no. Its great as a casual look. But I want to make a design that still keeps an organization look to it. As well as some personality added to it.

I already know the goggles are going to be on 24/7 now.

I just meant the colours. But I actually added subtle blue to the jacket in the end, when it was dark gray at one point.

Back in the old days...like, System 7.0 old days, if you typed "secret about box" in whatever the Notepad equivalent was (I forget), and then dragged the text onto the desktop, various stuff would appear depending on which OS version you were running.

Some versions would open up a game of Breakout, other ones would show a picture of Mac headquarters. With the Mac headquarters one, you could control the flag with your mouse. Hitting certain keys before the screen changed to the picture would show a different flag. One had an iguana on it. If you shook the mouse quick enough, you could actually make the flag fall off the flagpole.
