I think people will actually bid on it just for X3.

Before clicking onto the topic, I though this was a bidding on the MM9 Press Kit.

I don't buy it, and I won't.

"I just got really lucky!" Right. Excuse me while I take a call saying a wealthy relative just died and left me all kinds of money and I just have to pay a grand for some release fee.

I'm not going to waste it though.

Yeah, as if I care what you think.

I still think it's rediculous that people would go and pay so much for an old copy of a game. Isn't it about playing the game? Who gives two #####s about an old copy of a game?

Oh wait... All of you do.

The price tag on MM4 is 4.97! I call shenanigans!

Seriously, I would go bat ##### crazy if I found some of these in a store for that price.

He said he got them all from places online that sell factory sealed games and got lucky. Doubt it.

Hold up...

MEGA MAN 1, 7, X2 AND X3 ARE CLOSE TO IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THESE DAYS

I wonder how much I could sell my MM1 cartridge for..? If it's a ridiculous amount, I MIGHT actually put it up. Maybe.

But if its only like... 50 to 100, then forget it.

... but seriously, 12,000 dollars for that? I don't HAVE that kind of money. Even if I sold all my possessions I wouldn't have enough.

The original Mega Man did sell at a limited amount (maybe that was just Japan only, I don't know) and I've never seen it in a store.

I've actually been redesigning stages in MMPU out of boredom. I finished MegaMan 2 and am doing Mega Man 3.

After taking a good look while comparatively creating the stages, I've noticed that Mega Man 3's stages are actually poorly designed and bland. I don't really care to replay the game and I wouldn't care to see it in a store.

But Mega Man 2 would be nice to see in person, no matter what.

What are you, insane? MM3 was pretty damn good. Not as good as 1 and 2 of course, but it's one of my favorites.

Now MM6, THAT had terrible design. Or at least, I remember it being bad.

No, I'm not saying it was a bad game, but seriously take a look at the stages sometime. There's way too many energy pellets left around and a few unforgivable areas here and there.

Imagine being out of Rush Coil in the middle of the Gemini Man Doc Robot stage. There's a part you can't get passed without Rush Coil. You'd have to restart the game. I personally think that's dumb.

And Mega Man 6 was alright. Not genius, but I thought it was okay. I didn't care. I was playing with the Rush Jet Adaptor most of the time.

Who the ##### ever runs out of Rush Coil? Seriously.

MM3 was fun because of that, it was challenging, until you got to the last boss anyway.

I will agree... it's alot easier than the others, except for the Doc Robot stages, but the stages still aren't bad... it's just the item placement was bad if anything.

Though really, how do you run out of Rush Coil/Jet in that game?

Yeah, that's true, but I didn't really like running into fifteen thousand life and weapon energy pellets that I don't need. The Doc robot stages seemed like the only hard stages. The Wily stages were too short and easy.

I just don't feel like playing it.

Didn't say you were, just saying my opinion.

I still like the game, but not all of it. I just think it could have been constructed better or at least made the Wily stages longer.

The game itself was pretty long compared to the first two. 8 Robot Masters, then 4 Doc Robot Stages, then Wily Stages (I forgot how many...).

After that though, they just started the double fortress thing.

Yeah, the Doc Robots were technically the start of that.

I'd have to replay or check out the stages in MM6 again, but I didn't think they were that bad.

Yeah, we all knew there were two boss loops. Shadow Blade does 2 to Snake Man though so the order becomes Top-Shadow-Spark-Magnet-Hard-Snake-Gemini-Needle.

The game is my second-favourite after MM4, and MM4 would have been PERFECT if they kept the MM3 Rush Jet (and, optionally, the Rush Jet glitch and jumping glitch :D)

Who here has the systems to even play these games still?
Most NES units should be dead by now, and SNES should be starting to die anyway.

The only reason those are going for (or more precisely being offered at) such a high price is the fact they're factory sealed.  X3 may be rare, but you won't get a grand out of either a loose cartridge or a complete boxed copy.  And that goes for any of the games, rare or not.  And even knowing factory sealed copies are quite rare, and given the fact this set has ALL the 8 and 16 bit games (no one counts Mega Man Soccer) the price is STILL ridiculous.

... I still wouldn't mind having it though.  Even though I own all of them BUT X3...

I have a working NES (well, actually the AC adaptor crapped out but it plays fine with the power supply from our air hockey table) and SNES (although the power supply on THIS one is a little finnicky as well and sometimes it takes as long as ten minutes to get it working properly) and still occasionally bring them out for a game or two.

@Rez: I count Mega Man Soccer :O

MM6 is second, MM5 third, then MM7, then MM8. MM1-3 don't have seperate final battle themes.

Mega Man 4 had the best final boss theme HANDS DOWN.  7 is a close second, then 5 and 6 about tied, but no where near as good.  9's is meh and 8's is outright #####.

The SNES music is horrible.

It sounds all muffled and all of the samples are awful.
Unless you mean the Wily saucer bit, which is OK, but the guitar is pure #####.

Still better than the one in 8, though.

I actually love the MM7 soundset, and though I don't really like the Final Battle theme, MM7 had some of the greatest fortress tracks of all time.
