I realize this is pretty old but I just decided to watch it again today for no reason. Still funny to me.

Science can be art

I'm surprised, Ferro fluid is a lot cheaper than I thought it'd be.
http://www.teachersource.com/ElectricityAndMagnetism/Ferrofluid/BulkFerrofluid.aspx

I'm borderline on buying the 100ml bottle.
Put a magnet up my nose and dip it in Ferrofluid?
Hell yes.

Go get some iron filings; fine ones.
Magnetize them. Put them in water, add a little soap.

Bada-bing-bada-bang-bada-boom, ferrofluid.

The best all-encompassing commercial for one channel, ever. Boom de yada.

I just really like it is all. Even though the only Discovery Channel shows I ever watch are Dirty Jobs and Mythbusters.

Discovery Channel has a lot of interesting stuff. If I ever happen to be watching TV and I decide to switch to Discovery, a program that I'll be interested in will be on.

Also, it's probably just a coincidence, but 8 out of 10 times that program is  Mythbusters.

I saw this a few weeks ago and forgot about it, but it's really cool stop-motion drumming and piano-playing.

The Boom de Yada commercial looks awesome in HD.

As for that stop motion thing, cool technique, and a good tune as well.

Boom De Yah De thing is cool.

That guy doing the stop motion also did that with beatboxing, My friend Hilary started talking with him online and they are actually decent friends, even though they've never met. They video chatted and talked on the phone though.

Actually you can just listen to it after you see the animation loop a bit.

Babelfish says it means:
With opening, at that time in this game with interest, purchase. With the ending, you were impressed.

So apparently it means "This was classy stuff for its time, so I bought it and was impressed with the ending."

I think growing up with Super Nintendo was a great experience, and I also watched the Game Boy evolve, too.

I still played the NES a lot, through random means. Never owned one, though.

No it was original. No ##### that. It was "NES classic".

And then I got Super NES later (when it was cheaper for my parents, obviously). Same scenario for 64. Anything else I bought myself for the most part, I believe.

My history of console ownership went like this:

ColecoVision -> NES -> Genesis -> PlayStation

Mostly because my father was miffed about backwards-incompatibility.

NES > Gameboy > SNES > Gameboy Pocket > N64 > Playstation > Gameboy Color > GBA > Gamecube > GBA SP > NDS > Wii > PS2 > PSP

I wanted a Genesis back in the day, but nah. I had to go over to my cousin's place for Sonic goodness.

Then the Gamecube appeared.

For me it went;

NES > SNES > N64 > GameBoy > GameBoy Colour (got stolen) > PSOne > GameCube > GBA > DS > Wii.

More recently I've been playing PS2, but it's borrowed.

I'm thinking that, now that I will be able to afford one, I might get an XBox 360.

My history of console ownership went like this:

ColecoVision -> NES -> Genesis -> PlayStation

Mostly because my father was miffed about backwards-incompatibility.

That makes sense.

I was born into the NES era (Circa NES in '85, me in '86), so not only did we never have any of the stuff before it, but I didn't really think anything other than Nintendo prducts existed until my friend had--what we called Genesis at the time--a Sega.

My parents would never touch a videogame.

For me it went:
SNES > Game Boy > N64 > Game Boy Pocket > Sega Game Gear > Game Boy Color > Game Boy Advance > GameCube > DS > XBOX360 > Wii

I've been almost exclusively Nintendo, save for the Game Gear. My brother originally bought the 360.

NES > SNES > N64 > Wii > DS

It worked out fine.

Our family has also owned about seven computers over my lifetime.

It makes me sad when I see people without any Sega in their lives.
Then I remember that the Genesis has maybe ten games worth playing, and nobody had the Saturn because they stopped selling it before all of the awesome stuff came out.

That, and they really should have put the Segata Sanshiro commercials on our TV.

As a side effect of that, however, it's the awesome transparent green DK64 one.

In computational complexity theory, NP is one of the most fundamental complexity classes. The abbreviation NP refers to "Non-deterministic Polynomial time".

I was born in 1990. My parents owned an NES. And while the SNES came out in 1991, I didn't get one until late 1994s, by then the system was was more than halfway done.

And although I was a toddler, I played that NES a lot... I know many secrets in Super Mario Bros. 3 and I don't ever remember when I originally accessed those secrets.

I knew how to play games better when the SNES came out, and with most of the games having a save feature I beat tons of SNES games (although A Link to the Past took me well over 5 years to beat... I beat all of the Donkey Kong games though. :D).

Then I got an N64 when I turned 7 years old.

By then I considered myself a hardcore gamer.

So... for me, video game console ownership went like:

NES > SNES > N64 > PSX > GCN > GBA > DS > PS2 > Wii

I also got a Gameboy and a Gameboy Colour but I have NO idea when those came into my life.

I also have a Genesis, but mostly for some mother#####ing Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Though, that's all I played it for...

And I hate to say it, but aside from my Wii and current DS, my dad bought all of those other systems and the hundreds of games I own for them. I never let my dad buy video games for me, now-a-days.

My first video games that were completely mine were a Gameboy Color and Pokemon Red. Our other stuff was to be shared between me and my brother. So our collection goes..

SNES > PS1 > GBC > GEN > GBA > PS2 > DS > NES > Wii

We we're pretty crazy when it game to consoles, I remember having like, 3 SNES's in our life..\

I should be getting my 5th DS sometime this week..
